Yet Hong Khor (BMedSci, MBBS, PhD) is an Associate Professor, National Health and Medical Research Council Emerging Leadership Fellow, Medical Research Future Fund lead investigator at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She is also the Oxygen Service Lead at Austin Health and an Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Specialist at Austin and Alfred Health. She completed her PhD in ILD and oxygen therapy at the University of Melbourne in 2019. Dr Khor’s main interests include risk prediction and comprehensive care in ILD, as well as quality improvement in oxygen therapy, through qualitative and quantitative approaches, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of the REMAP-ILD Steering Committee and International Fundraising Committee.
In light of limited evidence-based therapeutic options and challenges with conducting traditional clinical trials in patients with ILD, innovative approaches are required to advance the field for improved patient outcomes. The REMAP-ILD enables coordinated and collaborative research activities that are patient-focused in real-world settings. It has the great potential to expedite clinical research by evaluating multiple questions simultaneously and to facilitate implementation of best practices with expanding clinical trial enrolment and generalizability.
