REMAP-ILD

As a dedicated pulmonologist, I have spent many years treating numerous patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILD) in Japan. My work encompasses daily clinical practice and extensive research, all aimed at providing appropriate diagnoses, effective treatment strategies, and improved outcomes for these challenging conditions. To date, I have been involved in the development of numerous guidelines for ILD in Japan, as well as international guidelines and statements.

Inspired by REMAP-ILD's innovative approach, I established the Japan Regional Management Committee (RMC) with co-chair Professor Miyazaki to ensure our active participation and contribution. We are currently initiating our activities and developing a sustainable framework for our involvement. I look forward to making significant strides in this field alongside the international community.

In the field of interstitial lung diseases (ILD), there are only a limited number of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conducted. Additionally, small group clinical studies often face challenges such as difficulty in accruing a sufficient number of cases, patient selection bias, and variations in medical resources across regions. These issues pose numerous obstacles in gathering adequate evidence. REMAP-ILD represents a global platform for randomized comparative trials and is a culmination of cutting-edge technology. Through this platform, we anticipate gaining more critical insights and addressing unmet medical needs.
